The S&P Global Corporate Sustainability Assessment (CSA) is an annual assessment of companies' sustainability practices. It covers over 10,000 companies worldwide using a consistent, rule-based methodology and specific approaches for 61 different industries. For each industry, there are approximately 100 questions, each falling under one of about 23 different themes or criteria. These criteria in turn fall under one of three dimensions: Environmental ('E'), Social ('S') and Governance ('G'). Some criteria are common across all industries, while others are industry-specific. The CSA calculates an overall ESG score for each covered company, as well as individual scores for the three parameters with 100 being the best possible score in each case.
