Oyu Tolgoi / Worley awards Bureau Veritas as Best Safety contractor in 2021

Oyu Tolgoi is one of the world's largest new copper-gold mines, located in the South Gobi Desert in Mongolia. High-quality copper, gold and other minerals are mined, processed and exported here ensuring Mongolia's prosperity.

The mine is situated in one of Mongolia's most arid regions, known as Oyu Tolgoi. which translates from Mongolian as "Turquoise Hill". Even during the time of Genghis Khan, mountain rocks were smelted here. The official opening of the mine was in 1990 by the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. According to independent estimates, reserves amount to about 37 million tons of copper and 1,300 tons of gold. Soon, 450,000 tons (500,000 short tons) of copper will be produced annually. Throughout Mongolia's history, the Oyu Tolgoi mining project is the largest financial enterprise.

Bureau Veritas Kazakhstan crossed the milestone of zero Lost Time Injuries (LTI) in approximately 116, 799 person-hours.
